Game, including blouwildebeest, springbok and black springbok, eland, bontebok, fellow deer, Oryx, zebras and ostriches, are kept on the farm. Organised game drives are arranged by appointment. The Winelands Angus Stud is managed by Basie and Coenraad Bezuidenhout on the Vredenheim Farm. The Stud originated from the Biggersberg Angus Stud of Cyril Hurvits in 1982. Marshmoor bulls were used to populate the stud. The most recent bulls used were: Vansia Impacker, the Canadian bull branded “Beef”, Carwin Red, Malbury, also from Canada, Vredenheim Nelson ll, and Vredenheim Chief. Our accolades include S A Senior Champion Red Angus Bull (2009) – Nelson ll. He was also crowned as the national champion bull. Vredenheim’s Miss Monu Destiny was crowned as S A Reserve Senior Champion Cow. Vredenheim was crowned as the “Breeder of Champions” on the 2009 National Show.

The above accolades are particularly significant as retailers, like Pick ‘n Pay, have chosen Angus meat as their preferred beef.
The Vredenheim Farm, in all its diversity, is the complete country destination for a memorable outing with family and friends. On occasion, Vredenheim hosts vintage car days and music events – contact the farm for details.
