Restaurant Barrique

Surrounded by beautiful gardens, Cape Dutch style buildings and vineyards on the Vredenheim Estate, situated alongside the R310 near Stellenbosch, Restaurant Barrique has been in operation since 1998 and has built a reputation for fine traditional cuisine in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands.

The restaurant is managed by the owners, Peter & Karin Brittz, and their personalised service and attention to detail show in the warm welcome visitors receive, through to the careful creation of their a la carte menu.

The interior of Restaurant Barrique is full of surprises with different dining areas. From our stylish table settings in the restored wine cellar to the casual sophistication of our garden area, you will feel at home dining from Barrique’s menu and drinking the affordable quality of Vredenheim wines.

Restaurant Barrique also hosts functions in their wine cellar dining area. This enchanting room can take up to 40 guests in a most spectacular setting - mirrors, cabinets and chandeliers combined with wonderful food will make your special occasion, birthday, anniversary, or get together an event to remember.

Restaurant Barrique, true to their innovative flair, have started their own microbrewery, brewing a Belgian-style range of beers as naturally as possible – no chemical enhancements, preservatives or filtration systems are used. This results in a beer which is close to the original style of beer made in Europe for centuries. The true malt and hops flavour is apparent and might even cast a slight sediment. The microbrewery offers a dark and golden ale.

Consistent service and quality has had most patrons returning for more, and feeling like a part of the Barrique family.
